Huawei Nova 12 SE
The nova 12 SE features a headliner 108-megapixel triple cameras, a Snapdragon chipset inside, and supports a blazing fast 66W charging rate — all wrapped in this stylish package. The first thing that strikes me about the nova 12 SE is its understated design. This phone goes for a sophisticated matte finish on the back — which also makes it fairly smudge resistant. It also has a subtle texture that reveals these tiny sparkles wherever light hits the surface.
Looking at the sides, we are greeted by a flat frame that comes in satin-like finish. This design choice, coupled with the phone’s slim profile (at a mere 7.39 mm), makes the nova 12 SE surprisingly comfortable to hold — even with a flat screen as well. Soft edges and rounded corners complete the picture, ensuring a phone that feels as good as it looks. The nova 12 SE rocks a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED screen. The bezels are almost equally thin, but you guessed it, the chin is still a bit thicker than the rest. A hole punch notch sits at the top housing its 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
Navigating the device is also smooth albeit capped at only 90Hz refresh rate. The nova 12 SE’s main highlight: triple rear cameras led by a 108-megapixel main sensor. No depth sensor is found here, but the other two lenses consist of an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The phone relies on the dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, a 2021 SoC built on a 6-nanometer process.
Huawei Nova 12i
The nova 12i — the more affordable option in the lineup.This model boasts a 108-megapixel camera, which Huawei touts as its main selling point. It’s backed by a Snapdragon chipset under the hood, a hefty 5000mAh battery, and 40W fast charging.
Our unit is in this sleek Green colorway, which reflects hues of green as light hits it despite the matte finish. The plastic material with this type of finish also makes it resistant to fingerprint and smudges. It is comfortable in the hands too thanks to the back panel’s curved sides. The frame is mostly flat all around but also has soft edges. This is where the earpiece actually sits which I find a clever design.
On the right side, there are the volume rocker along with the power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The bottom houses the USB-C port, the speaker grill, the dual nano-SIM slot, and the second microphone. This leaves nothing on the left side. There’s no ingress protection or IP rating here, not even a screen protection. So, you may want to be more careful and slap a protective case on this phone.
Speaking of screen, the nova 12i sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel capped to only 90Hz refresh rate. It has significantly thinner bezels, except the chin.the 108-megapixel sensor is a highlight, but megapixel count alone doesn’t guarantee image quality. While the nova 12i can capture sharp photos in good lighting, especially for social media use, zooming in reveals limitations in fine detail.
Moving on to performance, the nova 12i features the good ol’ Snapdragon 680 chipset from Qualcomm and comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Unfortunately, no expandable storage here.
Vivo Y100 4G

The Infinix Smart 8 Pro is under the hood is a MediaTek Helio G36 configured with up to 16GB extended RAM and 128GB expandable storage. Its dual camera gets a boost, now equipped with a 50-megapixel primary camera (from 13MP on the vanilla variant).
Battery is rated at 5000mAh capacity, although, despite having a USB-C port, it still employs 10W charging. For more storage, the smartphone also has a microSD card slot. It has a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged at 10W via a USB-C port. Furthermore, the phone sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock as security features. The smartphone has the XOS 13 UI on top of Android 13.
The Smart Pro is equipped with two cameras: a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.85 aperture, an AI lens, a quad-LED ring flash on the back panel, and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor. Additional features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm audio connector. It measures 163.6 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs around 189 grammes.
Oppo Reno 11F 5G
The Reno 11F 5G features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution and 394 PPI screen density. The sensors include an optical under-display fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and color spectrum. It comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. It features an IP65-rated dustproof and water-resistant chassis.
The device is powered by a Dimensity 7050 Octa-core processor while the GPU is ARM Mali-G68 MC4. The smartphone comes with a rear triple-camera setup with a 64 MP (wide) + 2MP (telephoto) + 8 MP (ultrawide). On the front, there is a single camera of 32 MP (wide) for your selfies.
Oppo Reno 11F 5G is fueled by a Li-Po 5,000 mAh + 67W fast charging. It runs on the ColorOS 14.0 operating system and supports Dual SIM. The dimension of the smartphone is 162.4 x 74.2 x 7.6 mm and it weighs 182 grams. It is available in colors including pink, green, and blue.

Realme 12 Plus 5G
The Realme 12+ 5G was co-designed with luxury watch designer Ollivier Savéo. For context (if you’re like me who doesn’t know who he is), Ollivier has worked with Swiss watch brands Rolex. So, you can expect to get a sweet-looking phone, and I must say, it is a beauty. You can see the sensors and the flash on top of them. At first glance, you may mistake it to pack a quad-camera setup, but in reality, we only get three sensors.
We get a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers, a dual nano-SIM card tray, and one of the dual stereo speakers at the bottom. Situated on the right side are its volume rocker and power button, and up top, we have another speaker and a 3.5mm audio jack. That is not a common sight these days. Moving on, the realme 12+ sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a 92.65% screen-to-body ratio.
For cameras, we have a triple rear camera setup at the back comprised of a 50MP SonyLYT600 main sensor with an aperture of f/1.88, an 8MP 112 degree Wide Angle camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and lastly we have a 2MP macro sensor. Up front, we get a 16MP selfie camera.
On the software front, out of the box, we get realme UI 50 based on Android 14.
The realme 12+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset that is coupled with its octa-core CPU clocking up to 2.6GHz and an ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. You also have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but there is an 8GB variant. RAM can be extended up to 12GB, giving you 24GB of total RAM thanks to Dynamic RAM Extension. A microSD card of up to 2TB can be inserted for more storage.
Honor X8B 4G
The Honor X8b has display has a pill-shaped cutout that houses a 50-megapixel selfie camera and a soft-LED flash. The back panel of the device features a 108-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging. The device comes in multiple configurations. Such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. The smartphone also features a dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0G, GPS, a USB-C port, and a side-facing fingerprint sensor.
In conclusion, the Honor X8b is a mid-range smartphone that offers several improvements over its predecessor. Including an AMOLED display, better cameras, and other features. With its sleek design, powerful processor, and impressive camera setup, the Honor X8b is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality smartphone that won’t break the bank.
Huawei Nova Y72 4G
The HUAWEI nova Y72 is the company's newest affordable smartphone, featuring a 6.75-inch IPS display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It also runs on the 2.0GHz 14nm Kirin 710A octa-core processor with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. For cameras, it sports a sizable 50MP f/1.8 main camera with AF paired with a 2MP f2. 4 macro camera.
Powering the Huawei nova Y72 is the company’s own Kirin 710A chipset paired to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, the latter can be expanded with Huawei’s proprietary NM memory card up to 256GB.
Software wise, you are getting Huawei’s own EMUI 12 skinned on top of Android, which you unfortunately don’t get official Google apps and services preinstalled, but the essential apps can still be downloaded on Huawei’s AppGallery.
One noteworthy feature within the EMUI 12 experience is Simple Mode, which enlarges fonts and icons that allows seniors to interact with the phone effortlessly along with smoother controls. 
Realme C67 4G
One of our favorite features of the realme C67 is its camera system. It comes with a dual camera setup highlighted by a 108MP main shooter paired with a 2MP depth sensor.
Powering the realme C67 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset with an Adreno 610 GPU.
Our unit comes with 8GB of RAM, which is virtually expandable by another 8GB along with 256GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot available to expand it further.
It also runs on Android 14, and comes with realme’s new Mini Capsule 2.0, which shows you various notifications such as charging, battery status, data usage, and more.
The realme C67 features a large 6.72-inch display. It might only be an LCD, but it has great color reproduction for an IPS panel. It can get quite bright as well with a peak brightness of 800 nits, allowing it to be usable under direct sunlight. But if you want it brighter, you can activate Extra Brightness in the settings to get a maximum of 950 nits.
It even features a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth UI animations, and a 180Hz touch-sampling rate for good responsiveness when you’re gaming.
Oppo A98 5G
The OPPO A98 5G is a stunning smartphone that offers a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 64MP dual rear camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and supports fast charging with a 5000mAh battery.
The front of the A98 has a 6.72-inch 120Hz display which is smooth and bright at times. Powered by a very decent Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It Houses a 64MP AI camera, a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP microlens on the rear and a 32MP selfie am on the front.
The 5,000mAh battery lasts all day, even with heavy usage — for me, I consider a battery good if I can get a full day of use out of it given I have a heavy user. Included their 67W SuperVOOC charging technology so you can quickly top up the battery if you do run low.
Infinix Note 30 4G
The standard Note 30 4G model includes the standard flat, box-shaped rear cover and rectangular camera island.
Facing it upward, it has a 6.78-inch LCD (IPS) screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and FHD+ resolution.Inside, it comes with a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB or 256GB storage.
The battery improvements would be the key selling point. With its 45W adaptor and All-Round fast charging tech, this phone can now endure up to 1,000 charges to its 5,000mAh capacity. That is 25 percent more charge cycles than the industry standard. This means that it would take longer for the battery to degrade over time.While it also supports PD 3.0 and reversed wired charging, making it function like a power bank as well.
In the camera department, the phone sports a 64MP f/1.7 OmniVision OV64B sensor, 6P lens, 2MP camera, and AI lens. There is also a 16MP front-facing shooter available for selfies.Other features mentioned are the dual speakers developed by JBL and a 3.5mm audio jack.
For connectivity, it has 4G, WiFi, GPS, and NFC support. While the Operating System would be Android 13 with XOS 13 skin overlay.
Samsung Galaxy A25 5G
The Galaxy A25 5G comes with Samsung's homegrown 5nm Exynos 1280 octa-core SoC, but you will be able to get it in just one storage/RAM configuration, i.e., 128GB + 8GB. Samsung is offering a crisp 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen (120 Hz) on the Galaxy A25 5G, with stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to go along with it.
A total of three cameras sit on the back, with the 50MP primary camera coming with OIS support. This is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro unit. Software features like Object Eraser and Single Take come bundled with the phone. Capping off the cameras on the Galaxy A25 5G is a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone should comfortably last a day or more thanks to the onboard 5,000 mAh battery.
Android 14 with One UI 6 is the software of choice on the Galaxy A25 5G, with One UI 6.1 likely to make it to the device later this year. With these factors in mind, the Galaxy A25 5G is poised to be one of the top-value budget phones of 2024.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G
This particular review is for the middle child in this family of five, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. Notice the lack of 5G in the name and in the feature set, but also notice that this is a "Pro" phone. For this particular series, the Pro series indicates an improved 200MP main camera sensor and a faster chip inside the phone.
As for all the rest, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is a big phone with a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen and it also has a 5,000mAh battery, just like all five phones in the series.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is the second best in this family of five. It bets on a capable 200MP main camera, a zippy Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, and a big and sharp 6.7-inch display.
Speaking of the 6.7-inch size, this is part of the common DNA in the Redmi Note 13 series, and others include fast charging and, of course, the MIUI software.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13
Starting with the Redmi Note 13 4G refreshed design. At the rear, its triple camera module gets simpler with the lenses now placed directly above its glass-like panel. The glass-like finish of its plastic rear panel, though, is reflective and is fingerprint-magnet. Our unit is in the Midnight Black colorway so it’s easier to spot the smudges as the light hits it.
Flipping at the front is the crisp 6.67-inch AMOLED display that runs up to 120Hz refresh rate. Using it outdoors won’t be a problem as it can reach up to 1800 nits peak brightness. There’s also a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for added layer of protection. Not to mention, the phone also comes with a pre-installed screen protector. Up top is a hole-punch notch, and the display supports in-screen fingerprint sensor. In my experience, it unlocks the phone fast enough with a split-second delay.
Every shot is bound to be iconic, thanks to its triple rear camera system boasting a 108-megapixel main sensor.
That’s complemented with an 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel macro.
Software-wise, I was expecting it to run Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS. To my surprise, it’s still running MIUI 14 instead, which is based on Android 13. The Redmi Note 13 is capped to 4G connectivity. It supports Bluetooth 5.1, dual frequency Wi-Fi, and NFC for convenient tap-to-pay options. It packs a 5,000mAh battery that lasted a good 13 hours and 11 minutes in our standard video loop test.
Infinix Hot 40i
The Infinix hot 40i, coming from its predecessor, the Infinix HOT 40i sports an improved design, bigger memory configuration, and better camera hardware.
In particular, the device sports a 6.56-inch LCD (IPS) screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and a top-center punch-hole for its 32MP selfie camera.
Under the hood, the handset features a 12nm UNISOC T606 chip with 8GB RAM, 8GB virtual RAM (for a total of up to 16GB RAM), 128GB or 256GB expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 18W fast charging.
The primary camera highlights a large 50MP sensor paired with an AI secondary camera helper.
Other specs include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, up to 200% Super Volume speaker, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and dual SIM slots.
This also has the XBOOST Gaming Engine and runs with Android 13 OS with XOS 13 skin on top.
Tecno Spark 20C
The Tecno Spark 20C, is a stylish device geared towards entry-level consumers. It comes in different colorways such as Gravity Black, Mystery White. At the front, it has a 6.6-inch LCD (IPS) screen with HD+ 1612 x 720 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Its punch-hole camera uses 8MP for selfies and video calls. Moreover, TECNO developed its own Dynamic Island feature that will show notifications for battery, charging, and more.
Inside, TECNO has been quiet on its processor and only mentioned of "octa-core" CPU. But it uses 4GB RAM + 4GB virtual RAM or 8+8GB combo and 128GB single storage option.
For battery, it has a 5,000mAh capacity that charges using the 18W power brick and a USB-C cable.
For the rear camera, it is using a 50MP primary shooter coupled with an AI lens for depth shooting.
Other features noted are the side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dual speaker setup with DTS sound which can be boosted to 400 percent volume.
Connectivity-wise, it has 4G, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth, FM, GPS, OTG and dual SIM support.
For software, the phone runs Android 13 Operating System.
Tecno Spark 20 Pro
The Spark 20 Pro is built around a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a Dynamic Port which displays the system info status and notifications around the punch hole. Speaking of punch-hole, it houses a 32MP front camera.
The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Moreover, it has stereo dual speaker sound by DTS and IP53 water and dust resistance. It also boots the Android 13-based HiOS.

The Xiaomi Redmi 13c, among the main characteristics of the Redmi 13C are a 6.74-inch screen with a frame rate of 90 Hz, a 5 MP front camera, a main triple camera (50 MP, 2 and 2 MP), MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, a 5000 mAh battery with 18W charging support. The 13C packs a 8MP front-facing camera; around the back, there's a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter and a 2MP macro. The 5,000mAh battery takes 18W charging but there's a 10W brick in the box.
Realme 11 4G
The Realme 11 4G offers a 6.4" 1080x2400 90Hz Super AMOLED display. Other features include a Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a microSDXC card slot and a dual camera setup. It has an sAMOLED screen measuring 6.4 inches with a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner and a thick bottom chin. It offers an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is also layered with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection against accidental damage and scratches. Design-wise, the Realme 11 4G flaunts a gradient back panel with a circular camera module. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button.
On the imaging front, the Realme 11 4G comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 108MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. Upfront, there is a 16MP snapper for selfies. Internally, a MediaTek Helio G99 processor powers the Realme 11 4G. This is the same chipset as its predecessor. The device packs up to 8GB RAM along with 8GB virtual RAM for smooth performance and up to 256GB storage. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 67W fast charging via a USB-C port. Software-wise, It runs on Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ comes with a 11-inch WQXGA LCD screen with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, and a 90Hz refresh rate. Inside is the 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 octa-core processor, Adreno 619L GPU, 8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB, and a 7,040mAh battery with 15W adaptive fast charging. It comes with AKG-tuned quad-speakers and in front of the tablet is a 5MP front-facing camera.
Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE
The Xiaomi has officially released the Redmi Pad SE in the Philippines. It features an 11-inch display with adaptive 90Hz refresh, 8000mAh battery, and equips the Snapdragon 680 SoC. The chipset is a Snapdragon 680, built on the 6 nm process technology. It is a fairly old platform, as it arrived in early 2021, but we don't expect a powerhouse in this price category. In fact, this could be a great SoC for the Redmi Pad SE – we'll know for sure once we go through our regular tests and benchmarks. Our first impressions from the performance are the UI is smooth, and the 90 Hz could prove itself worthy when browsing or using the native player.
Xiaomi introduced MIUI Pad 14, which is an adapted version of MIUI 14 for big screens. Тhe apps feel native and not stretched; video also looks good. The 11” LCD is certified for low blue light, meaning it would be a great device for reading and learning. In theory, it can reach 400 nits and 1500:1 contrast, but once again, we have to use our own tools to determine how authentic these results are in real-life scenarios.
There are four speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support, placed 2x2 on the right and left side (when held horizontally), and we are quite happy to see a 3.5 mm audio jack. The battery has an 8,000 mAh capacity, which sounds promising for an endurance test. However, it is rated for 10W, meaning it would take some time for the cell to get from 0 to 100% with the charger provided in the box.
Tecno Camon 20s Pro 5G
The TECNO CAMON 20s Pro 5G is a mid-range smartphone that runs Android 13 and HiOS 13 and is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8020 CPU and Mali-G77 GPU. The gadget has an internal storage of 256GB and RAM of 8GB.
It comes with a triple-rear camera setup of 64MP + 2MP + 2MP and a single 32MP selfie camera. The display is 6.67 inches AMOLED while the screen resolution is 1080 x 2400 pixels.
It also supports Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by). It is fueled with a 5000mAh battery + 33w wired charging. The sensors include a fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, etc.
Xiaomi Redmi 12
